ABOUT THE COURSE
This course focuses on delivering the understanding of data analytics to beginner and intermediate expertise level people. The data analytics process from understanding the data, its type, its processing and visualization to core algorithms and techniques in this domain will be discussed in this ten hours course.
The idea is to take the case of real-world data and develop the understanding of the complete data analytics process comprising of data processing, data modeling/representation and data visualization techniques. Sample dataset from the COVID-19 data will be used as a real-life example of medical domain which will enable a learner to understand these concepts from the perspective of the applied side and can use this information in applying the same information for other domains.
Moreover, the difference and understanding of common terminologies like data science, machine learning, analytics, big data would also be embedded within the content so that a learner can well understand these concepts and their differences.

Week 01. Introduction and Steps
Week 1 will cover basic understanding of data and its types. Different terminologies used in this domain and their differences. Moreover the lecture will also cover the basic steps invovled in data analytics. Exploring the dataset used in the course and concentrate on the most important tools for performing data analysis.
Week 02. Dive into Data Analytics
This week covers the basic steps invovled in data analytics, explore the dataset used in the course and concentrate on the most important tools for performing data analysis. This week takes a deep dive into the data analytics process: collection, challenges ones faces during the collection of data, cleaning, pre-processing and analysis.
Week 03. Data Analytics Advanced Steps
This week will shed light on:
- Supervised techniques and
- Unsupervised techniques used in data analytics
- Hands-on related to techniques discussed in previous lecture
Week 04. Data Visualization
This week will cover:
- Basic understanding of Data Visualization
- Different techniques and styles used in visualization of Data
- Commonly used tools to visualize data
- Hands-on session related to different techniques
Week 05. Text Analytics
This week will shed light on:
- Introduction to text analytics
- Basic techniques used in text analytics
- Hands-on related to techniques discussed in previous lecture
